What Does a $2000 Engagement Ring Look Like, Anyway?
I see this question a lot. It is not uncommon when starting out to not know what to expect from a diamond ring in this price range without seeing the ring on a finger. Since so many of the best deals on engagement rings are online, you need to know where to look to find pictures of rings on buyers fingers. (Seller pictures are great, but the top qualification of an engagement ring hand model is having small hands.) Seeing the ring on a range of hands of all shapes and sizes will provide a better expectation of what this ring will look like when it arrives on your doorstep.
Buying An Engagement Ring on Amazon
What makes Amazon a great place to buy an engagement ring? The sheer volume of both buyers and sellers on Amazon means that you have access to more information about purchasers experience than on any other website. Engagement rings on Amazon are not all sold BY Amazon. This marketplace features sellers ranging from small family owned jewelers like Kobelli known for their fine craftsmanship and attention to detail, to large wholesalers like Diamond Manufacturers USA with huge buying power and price advantage. I’ve written previously about the benefits of shopping on Amazon for an engagement ring at any price.
Whichever seller you pick. Make sure to check these items:
- Seller Ratings: Every Amazon seller has a page listing all positive and negative feedback received from customers. You can find this by clicking the “View Shipping Rates and Policies” link from any product page under “Product Description”.
- Return Policy: This should be clearly stated in the main bullets next to the product image or on the seller’s profile page. Do not buy from a seller without an explicitly stated return policy.
- “CTW”: This is an abbreviation for Carat Total Weight and is the sum of all the diamonds included in the ring. Do not mistake this number for the weight of the center stone alone. Sometimes a ring will look like a great deal until you realize that the “1 CTW” means that the center stone is only 0.5 carats, and the remaining half carat is composed of the smaller stones in the ring.
- Diamond Type: Know what you’re buying. Is the listing for a natural diamond, lab-created diamond which has all the same properties as a diamond, or a Moissanite which is another man-made brilliant stone with slightly different properties. This should be explicitly stated in each listing.
With all that being said, here are some of the best engagement rings under $2000 currently being sold on Amazon based on seller ratings and customer reviews.

14K White Gold Oval Cut Solitaire Diamond Engagement Ring (0.8 Carat H-I Color VS2 Clarity)
5-STARS | 2 CUSTOMER REVIEWS | 3 PHOTOS
While this ring is not technically “UNDER” $2000, it comes pretty close. Oval diamonds are elegant, finger-flattering, and particularly popular right now so I thought I would be remiss if I did not include an oval option on this list as close to $2000 as possible from a well-reviewed seller on Amazon. Here it is!
